The impact
For example: As of this past week, Astra Grading and Pipe had installed about 160 linear feet of the new downtown drainage system when they ran into an existing 20” water main directly in the path of the storm line.
Work has been temporarily delayed while plans for a “conflict box” around the water line are being worked out.
How to manage
Site construction overall has moved beyond the entrance to Fire Station No. 1 and vehicle access on East Trinity Place has been restored in both directions.
Once work resumes and makes its way east onto East Howard Avenue, East Trinity will be paved and re-opened with its longstanding three-lane configuration — one lane heading into town; two lanes heading out of town.
