The impact
Big Apple, a paving, striping and sealing contractor, is currently ramping up for multiple striping projects on Ponce de Leon Avenue and Coventry Road. Residents are advised to expect the following projects in the near future:
- Refreshed striping on W Ponce de Leon Avenue between E Parkwood Road and W Trinity Place. This work will also optimize the existing space to encourage safer speeds and increase the spacing between drivers and cyclists.
- Refreshed crosswalk markings at the speed table near 230 E Ponce de Leon Avenue.
- MMA paint — a dark green application testing the design feasibility of future landscaping by indicating where a more permanent installation might go — in certain areas of Coventry Road, north of Scott Blvd.
How to manage
Some disruption will occur and minor delays are possible. Two-way traffic and access to any impacted driveways will be maintained during construction. Watch for directional signage and/or traffic flaggers when navigating these areas, taking care to exercise patience and kindness towards road crew personnel.
