The details

Astra Grading and Pipe, the city’s project contractor, is scheduled to begin traffic control and temporary vehicle lane changes on East Trinity Place.

The impact

Beginning Thursday, July 14 the west bound lane on the north side of East Trinity will be closed for construction between Fire Station No. 1 and North Candler Street.

During the following week (between July 18 and 22), Astra will start excavating the existing drainage structure on East Trinity at the alley between Fire Station No. 1 and Phillips Tower and will begin installing new storm drainage pipe in an easterly direction towards North Candler Street.

Once the contractor has worked past North Candler, the section of East Trinity from the alley at Phillips Tower and Fire Station No. 1 to the dry cleaners at 240 East Trinity will be repaved, restriped and reopened. The process to this point should take about 8-10 weeks, depending on the weather and unforeseen conflicts with utilities.

How to manage

Sewer Project MapTwo-way vehicle traffic, along with pedestrian and driveway access, will generally be maintained during the work, though flagman/directional efforts may cause minor delays. McDonough Street to the west and Commerce Drive to the east both provide alternate northbound routes into the city.
