Street Repair and Traffic Calming Work Begins June 15

SWNWAssuming good weather, H.E.H. Paving, Inc., a contractor operating on behalf of the city, will begin work Monday, June 15 on the following streets: Wilton Drive from Clairemont Avenue to Oakland Street; Greenwood Avenue from West College Avenue to the dead end; and East and West Benson Street from Oakview Road to the dead end. This work includes all necessary milling, patching, resurfacing, repairing of deficient sidewalks, and installation of new speed tables. Final Phase of Downtown Cycle Track Begins Monday, Feb. 10

DTWeather permitting, the final phase of the downtown cycle track connecting Commerce Drive with McDonough Street will begin Monday, February 10. The work will take place on the northern/Courthouse side of West Trinity Place and will include new sidewalks and a grade separated bike lane consistent with those recently installed on Commerce Drive.

DeKalb County Sewer Work to Result In Extended Oakhurst Road Closures

SWPending DeKalb County sanitary sewer upgrades will result in two lengthy Oakhurst road closures beginning in the coming weeks. The first, on Second Avenue between E. Lake Dr. and Beaty Place, will begin October 28, 2019 and last approximately 12 weeks. The second, on Hood Circle near the intersection of Third Avenue and Leyden St., will begin in mid-November and last approximately 12-14 weeks.
